Thank you for your help in minimizing the spread of COVID-19 in our schools and community.  Yesterday you received a request to keep ill children home from school.  Today’s message clarifies what to do if your child’s symptoms resolve quickly or your child has an on-going medical condition.

1. If your child has only one of the symptoms below and the symptom goes away within 24 hours, the child may return to school.

• Fatigue

• Headache

• Muscle or body aches

• Sore throat

• Congestion or runny nose

• Nausea or vomiting

• Diarrhea (defined as 2 or more loose stool in 24 hours)

2. If these symptoms last longer than 24 hours or if your child has more than one of these symptoms, or if your child has a cough, fever/chills, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, please keep your child home and contact the health room assistant or school nurse.
3. If your child has a cough, fever/chills, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, please keep your child home and contact the health room assistant or school nurse.

4. If your child suffers from recurring symptoms due to a medically diagnosed condition, please contact the school nurse for further information.
