Child Find

CHILD FIND

Child Find is a component of Special Education law that requires all school districts to identify, locate, and evaluate all children with disabilities, aged birth to 21, who are in need of early intervention or special education services.

The Child Find mandate applies to all children who reside within the state, including children who attend private and public schools, highly mobile children, and children who qualify as migrant, homeless or wards of the state.

If you have a child who you think might have a disability requiring special education instruction or you know of such a child, ages birth to 21, please contact the appropriate entity below.

If your child is under the age of three, please contact South Sound Parent to Parent at the link provided or by calling (360) 352-1126.

If your child is between the ages of 3-21, please contact  the Rochester School District Special Services Department at (360) 273-6522.
